Mid-South Community College offers opportunities for high school students to enroll in both general education transfer courses and/or in technical courses offered through the MSCC Technical Center, courses which start them students on career pathways which lead to college awards and industry certifications.
To enroll in general education transfer courses, concurrent students must be enrolled in the 9th through 12th grade, have a high school grade-point average of at least a 3.0, college-level placement test scores, and written support from their high school principal or superintendent. Students interested in concurrent enrollment should fill out an MSCC Application for Admission and contact the Admissions Office to schedule an appointment with an admissions counselor. Eligible students may apply for a Goldsby Scholarship to cover the tuition cost of up to two courses a semester.
To enroll in MSCC Technical Center courses, concurrent students must be enrolled in the 11th or 12th grades. Programs available include Diesel Technology, Health Science Technology, Information Systems Technology, Machining Technology, and Welding Technology. Books, tuition, and fees are provided through the Center and are funded by local school districts and the Arkansas Department of Workforce Education.
